Former Democratic congresswoman and veteran Tulsi Gabbard spoke with CNN’s Dana Bash this week about the controversy surrounding Donald Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetery to honor the 13 service members killed during America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

While Bash attempted to misrepresent Trump’s visit as scandalous in some way, Gabbard pushed back, saying the somber ceremony was “a special moment” to “remember their names” and “the true cost of war.”

Trump was invited to the ceremony by the Gold Star families.

Gabbard ultimately turned the tables on Bash, blasting the focus of the media coverage surrounding the third anniversary of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

“What is more outrageous to me is that there wasn’t universal coverage of the momentous day of the third anniversary of the loss of these 13 Gold Star families,” Gabbard said.

Gabbard also blasted Kamala Harris’ response to the anniversary and the Gold Star families.
