South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace went toe-to-toe with a black CNN panelist known for seeing racism in every subject, no matter how ridiculous.

Abby Phillips of CNN hosted a panel discussion about a black woman who owns a Trump store in Virginia as if that were an election-changing issue and of the utmost importance to voters who have been much more concerned about rampant inflation, the influx of millions of illegal immigrants, and growing instability around the world under the Biden-Harris regime.

Shortly after the discussion began, Vanderbilt University Professor Michael Eric Dyson launched into a tirade over Mace’s pronunciation of Vice President Kamala Harris’ first name and insinuated that she was intentionally racist.

“That sounds like self-hatred and justification of white supremacy,” Dyson remarked about the Trump store owner before redirecting focus on Mace. “Now let me just say this, because this congresswoman is a wonderful human being, but when you disrespect Kamala Harris by saying you will call her anything you want, I know you don’t intend it to be that way. That’s the history and legacy of white disregard for the humanity of black people,” Dyson said.

“Oh, so now you’re calling me racist?” Mace fired back.

“I didn’t say—” Dyson began before the congresswoman interrupted.

“That is BS. That is complete BS,” Mace responded as Dyson continued to say Mace doesn’t have to “intend racism to accomplish it.”

“No, no, no. You are intending that I am racist, and that is offensive and it’s wrong. And it’s offensive, and it’s disgusting,” Mace continued as other CNN panelists joined the crosstalk.

Dyson called Mace’s “disrespect” of Harris “disgusting.” The panel calmed down somewhat when the GOP lawmaker countered that Harris’s “disrespect of women” is “disgusting.”

“You know what’s disgusting to women? It’s her disrespect of women,” Mace said. “She doesn’t know what a woman is, and if at 25 years ago, I became—”

“White women don’t have the ability to tell black women who paid the price of blood to make this country what it is to tell them they’re not real women,” Dyson interjected, essentially claiming that white women are not permitted to criticize a black woman for any reason.

“Twenty-five years ago, I became the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina. I fought my way through it tooth and nail, blood, sweat and tears,” Mace said. “And Kamala Harris—”

“Kamala! Kamala! It’s Kamala!” CNN panelists shouted, pronouncing the vice president’s name as “KA-mah-la” instead of Mace’s “ka-MAH-la.”

“You’re doing this on purpose! You can’t expect people to respect your service if you don’t respect her,” former Clinton White House aide Keith Boykin screamed at Mace from across the table, which led Phillips to interject and move the panel forward as she got set to play an additional clip of the Trump store owner.

According to a Daily Beast report in October, Mace was actively campaigning to be Trump’s vice presidential pick through cable news appearances, publicity stunts, and brash social media posts.

At the time, Mace noted in a video posted to the X platform: “Under the former president, the Taliban did not have American weapons, and Russia was not invading Ukraine. We are calling on the administration to ensure that not one dollar can be used to fund international terrorism. We are also calling on the administration to secure our border in order to prevent terrorists from entering our country.”

Trump ultimately chose Sen. J.D. Vance to be his running mate, and while Mace voted in favor of impeaching Trump in 2020, she has essentially done a 180 and has been supportive of him and his policies as he seeks the 2024 presidency.
