A remarkable number of supporters of President Joe Biden believe the assassination attempt against Donald Trump was staged and not intended to kill him.
“Roughly 1 in 5 voters said they find it credible that the shooting was staged and not intended to kill Trump, including a third of Biden’s supporters and 12% of those who back Trump,” a Morning Consult poll reveals.
Meaning, that conspiracy theorists on the left legitimately believe Trump had himself shot … but just in the ear to make it totally believable.
With almost any poll, you tend to find a decent percentage of people who will believe just about anything. Thirty-three percent, however, is remarkably high.
In order to believe the “BlueAnon” conspiracy theory, you’d have to believe that Donald Trump offered himself up to be shot, that the 20-year-old gunman was good enough to aim at and hit his ear, and that the other rallygoers, one of whom died, didn’t really get shot and/or were collateral damage in Trump’s scheme.
It doesn’t help that the top talent at MSNBC is openly questioning the legitimacy of the assassination attempt against Trump.
Host Joy Reid has been demanding medical records and suggesting Trump didn’t get shot but was bleeding from broken glass, despite there being no broken glass around him.
“I have many questions! Like where are the medical reports? What caused Trump’s injury and what was the injury? Sheapnel? [sic] Glass? A bullet?” she wrote on social media.
Reid’s colleague, MSNBC host Michael Steele – who was once the actual chairman of the Republican Party – offered up similar suggestions.
“Was it caused by a bullet as opposed to — as some reports from those on the scene, other reporters — saying that it was actually shards of glass from the teleprompter itself, not the bullet,” he said.
“So there are a lot of questions around that ear. And yet there’s been no response to that. Instead, just showing the image of the man coming into the hall with the wounded ear.”
Just asking questions folks, not implying a thing.

Trump Assassination Attempt Was NOT Staged
Steele and Reid’s conspiracy theory, of course, has been debunked. Why let a little thing like the truth get in the way of reporting at MSNBC?
But you can see why the mindless viewers of that network might nod in agreement and say the assassination attempt was staged.
Reid followed up her inane theory with some other doozies, including telling viewers of the network’s RNC coverage that Donald Trump used the survival of the assassination attempt on his life as a photo op.
She then claimed President Biden recovering from COVID would be equally impressive as Trump surviving a bullet to the head.
It’ll be interesting to watch Big Tech sit back and allow these conspiracy theories to flourish on their social media networks. How many QAnon types – equally as wild with their conspiracies – or COVID vaccine skeptics, or people who knew the Hunter Biden laptop story was real were banned from platforms?
Think the response to BlueAnon will be commensurate?
The Morning Consult poll provides some other startling numbers along with those who suggest the assassination attempt against Trump was staged.
For instance, nearly 20% of Biden supporters reported feeling “happy” after hearing the news that Trump was shot. We’d suggest the Secret Service investigate those people, but they’d probably elude them by hiding on a slightly sloped roof.
