Helena, Mont. – Today SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Mary Elizabeth Coleman for secretary of state of Missouri.
“Mary Elizabeth Coleman is one of Missouri’s foremost champions of life. With her extensive background as an attorney and a legislator, she will make an excellent secretary of state working to protect election integrity and the rights of Missourians,” said the Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA Pro-Life America’s vice president of government affairs. “Thanks in large part to Sen. Coleman’s tireless advocacy, Missouri protects unborn children and their mothers for all nine months of pregnancy and has halted the flow of tax dollars to abortion giant Planned Parenthood. With democratically enacted pro-life laws under attack by the radical Left in Missouri and nationwide, it is more critical than ever to have strong pro-life, pro-woman leaders like Sen. Coleman at every level defending the gains the people and their legislators have worked so hard to achieve.”
Coleman has represented the 22nd District in the state Senate since 2023. This session she sponsored successful legislation to stop Medicaid dollars from being funneled to abortion businesses. Previously she served in the state House of Representatives, where she was chair of the Children and Families Committee. She introduced the Empower Women, Promote Life Act to stop abortions on babies with beating hearts, as well as sponsoring legislation to protect babies who survive abortions and to extend child support to unborn children. She also co-sponsored the Protect Children First joint resolution, a proposed constitutional amendment to clarify that there is no “right” to abortion in Missouri.
Coleman received a BSBA in management from Saint Louis University and her Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. She served on the Arnold City Council from 2013-2015. Coleman practices law at Thomas More Society, a national not-for-profit law firm dedicated to restoring respect in law for life, family, and religious liberty. She and her husband of 20 years, Christopher, have six children, two of whom are adopted.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Candidate Fund is a federal political action committee of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America – a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
