It was a big fundraising day for Team Trump…
According to an Axios report, the Trump campaign saw a record-breaking number of donations in the wake of his “Guilty” verdict in the former president’s New York City criminal trial.
Team Trump brought in $34.8 million, which nearly doubles its previous single-day record.
After the verdict, supporters rushed to Trump’s fundraising site, temporarily crashing it. 29.7% of the contributors were brand-new donors to the WinRed platform.
“President Trump and our campaign are immensely grateful for this outpouring of support from patriots across our country,” the campaign said in a release. “President Trump is fighting to save our nation and November 5th is the day Americans will deliver the real verdict.”
Trump had some big-money donors as well, including Sequoia founder Shaun Maguire.
“I just donated $300k to Trump. I’m prepared to lose friends. Here’s why,” Maguire said on X.
“Back in 2016 I had drunk the media Kool-Aid and was scared out of my mind about Trump. As such I donated to Hilary Clinton’s campaign and voted for her. By 2020 I was disillusioned and didn’t vote – I didn’t like either option. Now, in 2024, I believe this is one of the most important elections of my lifetime, and I’m supporting Trump,” he added.
X owner Elon Musk responded to Maguire on social media, saying simply, “I think you’re right.”

The Trump 2024 campaign donation platform WinRed crashed after his guilty verdict.
“So many Americans were moved to donate to President Trump’s campaign that the WinRed pages went down,” the Trump campaign said. https://t.co/0n4nLiGkId
