Don Lemon blows a gasket over Obama’s lovefest with Trump

A genuine moment of friendly banter between former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump set off Don Lemon.

The former CNN host let loose on his YouTube channel in a profanity-filled rant over the appearance of the two men at the funeral of the late President Jimmy Carter last week. Obama and Trump spoke, laughed, and engaged in a seemingly cordial exchange after years of insults and animosity, and Lemon was not happy with others normalizing the civility.

Lemon took issue with a panel discussion on “Morning Joe” where MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski spoke with former Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele and The New Yorker‘s Susan Glasser. Lemon jumped off of Glasser’s comments invoking Russian President Vladimir Putin and called out those trying to be friendly with the incoming president.

“So when you see something like what happened yesterday, people have a right to be concerned because they go, well, if they’re going to do that there publicly, what are they going to say and do behind closed doors? If they’re going to acquiesce seemingly like that publicly, then what does that mean in the broader sense of the structure of the fabric of our society?” Lemon said.

“You have to indicate to the American people that this is not normal…grinning with someone that you have called a fascist over the last couple of years and the last months. That’s not normal. Folks are tired of the behavior being normalized. Civility does not mean befriending people or forgoing your morals and your principles and your character,” he continued.

“If someone disrespects my loved one, I don’t have to smile in their f–king face! And they’re going to know it,” Lemon raged.

“If Ted Cruz can’t stand up for his wife that Donald Trump calls ugly, then who is he going to stand up for? Now, listen, you guys could be, right? Barack Obama is a classy guy. But these are the very same MAGA people who have called and Donald Trump has helped promote, calling Michelle Obama a man,” the former CNN host went on.

“I’m not smiling in your face if you’re calling my sister and my mother or my wife or my girlfriend, a man. F–k you!” he exclaimed.

Lemon blasted the “Morning Joe” hosts, who famously visited Trump at his Florida Mar-a-Lago estate after he won the election.

‘Now listen, you guys could be right. Maybe this is some master chess move, but I’m not buying it,” Lemon said. “And if it’s not, then shame on them for normalizing this behavior.’
