California Gov. Gavin Newsom has invited President-elect Donald Trump to tour wildfire-ravaged parts of Southern California, but critics wonder whether his invitation is sincere or a desperate attempt to distract.
“As you prepare to assume the presidency once more, I invite you to come to California again — to meet with the Americans affected by these fires, see the devastation firsthand, and join me and others in thanking the heroic firefighters and first responders who are putting their lives on the line,” Newsom wrote in a letter to Trump late Friday.
“In the spirit of this great country, we must not politicize human tragedy or spread disinformation from the sidelines. Hundreds of thousands of Americans — displaced from their homes and fearful for the future — deserve to see all of us working in their best interests to ensure a fast recovery and rebuild,” he added.

Notice what he wrote about so-called “disinformation.” Earlier that day, he begged outgoing President Joe Biden to address the “hurricane-force winds of mis- and disinformation” that Trump and his allies have allegedly been spreading.
“We’ve faced hurricane-force winds of lies and disinformation,” he said. “People want to divide this country, and we need to confront that head-on.”

But critics say this alleged “misinformation” and “disinformation” is nothing more than undeniable facts about the California government’s mishandling of the wildfires currently engulfing the state. Facts that government officials like Newsom are desperate to hide.
Misinformation – n. (Mis•in•fer•mā•shen) information democrats find problematic because it’s too close to the truth

Facts such as this: Some Southern California firefighters have run out of water. Yet to hear Newsom’s allies in the media tell it, this FACT is “misinformation.”
Watch below as a news anchor claims that firefighters have not run out of water, only for an on-the-scene anchor to then completely obliterate his false claim:
This is amazing.
A left-wing anchor tries to “fact-check” Rick Caruso by saying firefighters have not said they are running out of water.
They then cut to their reporter on the ground who repeatedly states they are out of water completely.

Going back to Newsom’s letter, notice also what he wrote about the need for people to “not politicize” the California wildfires.
According to the governor and his allies, Trump has been politicizing the wildfires by stating facts — inconvenient facts.
Listen to him expound on this theory below:
This is an emergency. This isn’t about politics — it’s about making sure people are alive.

Yet critics say the only ones who have politicized the wildfires have been Democrats like Newsom, not to mention President Biden.
This leads to Newsom’s letter — a letter that many critics believe is designed to distract attention from his failures as a leader.
Look:
As usual, you offer an open hand to distract from the one wielding the knife behind your back…

Sounds like you’re the one politicizing it and trying to play victim to DISTRACT from your GROSS FAILURES as governor. Resign

Making you accountable for your incompetence is not politicizing, you ARE the one politicising Trump’s rightful criticism hoping to distract public attention from your failure, it won’t work!

he himself is the one politicizing. he is the leader, people are dying, and he stands there and says “this is a political attack on me”. just to distract from his failure. calling out a failed leader in a crisis and demanding change, is simply the truth, the people need change.

@realDonaldTrump @JDVance @elonmusk,are wrong! It is the state of California and the people of California who are fed up with you and your DEI & LGBTQ! !Don’t distract people! The whole nation knows that it is your fault that causes this disaster and the fires every year!
