James Woods shared the good news that his Pacific Palisades home was spared after first believing that it had been lost to the devastating wildfires that have engulfed areas near Los Angeles, burning down thousands of houses.
Two days after an emotional appearance on CNN when he tearfully told reporter Pamela Brown, “One day you’re swimming in the pool and the next day it’s all gone,” the legendary conservative actor took to X to post a video of the still-standing property, writing “a miracle has happened” and sharing what a close call that it was, with neighboring houses having been reduced to ashes.
A miracle has happened. We managed to get to our property and our home, that we were told is gone forever, is still standing. In this hellish landscape “standing” is relative, but smoke and other damage is not like the utter destruction around us. The view from our deck area: pic.twitter.com/JZU2kTJC52

“One side untouched, the other utter destruction. While we rejoice to find our house intact, in the midst of a hellscape like this, you can only think of your neighbors. I was so certain our house was gone a day ago, but the fickle finger of fate decided otherwise,” Woods wrote, with a video that panned from one side of the street to the other.

So many beautiful messages from all of you. I’m so happy and grateful, but honestly the entire area looks like the dark side of the moon. It’s so fundamentally gut-wrenching and upsetting, it’s almost hard to celebrate the joyous news that our home survived. pic.twitter.com/kpBhL1432l

Woods also lent his support to a petition calling on Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, a grossly incompetent Democrat hack who was on a junket in Africa at a time when constituents needed her most, to resign.

“In the wake of these catastrophic fires, our city has been left in crisis. Water supplies have been severely strained, billions of taxpayer dollars have been misallocated or left unaccounted for, and countless lives have been lost. Families have been displaced, homes destroyed, and livelihoods shattered—yet Mayor Bass has been absent from the frontlines, choosing to travel abroad while her constituents suffer,” reads the Change.org petition.
“Despite the tireless efforts of our first responders, the city has been woefully unprepared to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents. Basic resources, such as water and emergency services, have been inadequate, and leadership has been nowhere to be found when it was needed most,” the petition states, laying out a list of demands that include the end of Bass’s disastrous leadership and a “full, transparent investigation into the failures in disaster preparedness, response, and resource allocation that left our city vulnerable.”
“It took mere hours for the ineptitude of Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass to render the Pacific Palisades a scorched wasteland. To rebuild will be a gargantuan task. The first necessary step must be to recall these two worthless political hacks,” Woods said in a Thursday post to X.
