A Delta aircraft carrying over 200 passengers was evacuated on Friday morning, following an aborted takeoff.

Four people reported minor injuries following the evacuation, in which the emergency inflatable slides were deployed. Passenger Curtis James spoke to CNN about the unusual happening, explaining that one of the engines caught fire as the plane was attempting to leave the airport.

“On takeoff, something went wrong and engine caught fire,” he explained. “Had to emergency evacuate the plane.”

In a statement, Delta said the flight crew followed protocol after the aircraft, which had been headed from Atlanta to Minneapolis-St. Paul, suddenly suffered and engine problem.

“Delta’s flight crew followed established procedures to suspend the takeoff of flight 2668 from Atlanta (ATL) to Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) after an indication of an engine issue.”

The airport revealed more about the injured passengers, stating: “Four passengers are reporting minor injuries; one was transported, the remaining three were treated on scene.”

A video posted to X showed passengers deplaning and heading back to the terminal.

Watch:

This comes after a winter storm hit Atlanta hard, forcing the cancellation of over 400 flights departing from the airport.
