Prominent Republican lawmakers and outspoken conservative pundits reacted on Friday to Judge Juan Merchan sentencing President-elect Donald Trump to an “unconditional discharge” in his NYC “hush money” case.

“What a joke and a disgrace,” Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn wrote on X in response to Charlie Kirk, who said “What a waste of time, energy, and money. A show trial, and the bad guys lost.”

Rep. Rudy Yakym, R-Ind., sounded off on the sentencing as well, writing, “Today’s sentencing is an unfortunate reminder that Democrats will stop at nothing, including weaponizing the justice system to try and destroy President Trump. Rest assured, their efforts have and will continue to fail. America’s comeback begins in 10 days.”

Judge Merchan engaged in criminal abuse of power to attack the Democrat’s top political opponent, Donald Trump. Shamefully, Judge Merchan and the Democrats didn’t perceive terrorists, cartels, and everyday street criminals as threats to democracy. Can’t wait for @PamBondi,” said Georgia Rep. and MAGA loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Incoming Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt shared a post from X account Trump War Room that said “TREMENDOUS SETBACK FOR THE AMERICAN COURT SYSTEM.”

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) asked “Has anyone heard of a felony so serious it cost millions of dollars to prosecute but deserved no punishment? No one, except liberal prosecutors who want to persecute Trump.”
