We told you last week about how our favorite fake journalist, Taylor Lorenz, got tricked into interviewing the “CEO of Enron” over Christmas break.

A lot of people are falling for this Enron parody, and it’s quite hilarious to watch it unfold.

I mean, look at this:

As you may remember, Enron went bankrupt way back in 2001, but as of December last year, the company has mysteriously resurrected itself. Now — and I promise you I didn’t fall for this — they’re seemingly hawking mini-nuclear reactors for your home.

Check it out:

“It’s even got a little TV so our team’s always watching.”

Their website goes into more detail:

The heavy water pump keeps the hydrogen-enriched coolant flowing flawlessly, ensuring precise temperature control and peak reactor performance — quiet, efficient, and built to last.

The integrated chip enables seamless 24/7 monitoring by Enron’s nuclear management facility, ensuring real-time oversight and unparalleled operational safety — anytime, anywhere.

The uranium zirconium hydride reactor combines advanced neutron moderation with boron control drums to precisely manage the nuclear reaction, delivering exceptional safety, unmatched fuel efficiency, and compact, sustainable power — all in one breakthrough design.

Up to this point, easily accessible nuclear power has been the stuff of science fiction.

And it still is.

Here’s the fine print many on the internet — Taylor Lorenz included — missed:

THE INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE IS FIRST AMENDMENT-PROTECTED PARODY, REPRESENTS PERFORMANCE ART, AND IS FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

Publicly available documents show that the Enron trademark was bought by an Arkansas-based LLC called The College Company for $275, and the co-founder of that company is one Connor Gaydos (he’s the guy in the video).

You might recognize Gaydos’s name as one of the Birds-Aren’t-Real meme originators. He’s also currently listed as the CEO of Enron on LinkedIn.

Well, so much for powering your house for 10 years and/or developing a lame mutant power.

I really hope they keep the parody coming over at Enron. I simply cannot get enough of it!
