Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) melted down during a CNN panel discussion when Scott Jennings pointed out the foolishness of a California program that sought to address the overrepresentation of white people as firefighters.
With DEI in the spotlight over the devastating wildfires near Los Angeles and some statements that suggest too much emphasis was placed on discriminatory training and measures over solid disaster preparation, Jennings brought up a June 2023 NPR report titled “Firefighting is mostly white and male. A California program aims to change that,” to make a point on Wednesday’s edition of “CNN NewsNight” where Crockett was occupying a seat.
JUST IN: Rep. Jasmine Crockett completely loses it after Scott Jennings calls out DEI in the LAFD, claims black women are the most educated people in America.
Crockett started making random comments like how her ancestors built the White House.

“[I]n California, you might have recalled a news story from last year,” Jennings said. “There was some interest in the fire departments and the firefighters in California. And the interest was that there were too many White men who were firefighters. And we need to have a program in California to make sure we don’t have enough white men as firefighters.”
“We have DEI, we have budget cuts, and yet I’m wondering now if your house was burning down, how much do you care what color the firefighters are?” He asked, a legitimate question that gets directly at the heart of the problem of hiring that prioritizes race over merit.
That triggered the race-obsessed congresswoman and AOC wannabe who had nothing relevant to add to the discussion about the tragedy in California which is nowhere near her Dallas-Ft. Worth district.
Crockett once again showcased herself as an embarrassment to Congress by reeling off a bizarre rambling diatribe in which she claimed that her ancestors built the White House, a rant that perfectly sums up the sad state of affairs for House Democrats during the era of “The Squad” and the whip-tongued drama queens cosplaying as serious lawmakers.
“So, let me be clear. Because you are a woman or because – because I know that some of the right has been sharing these photos of the fact that I believe that the fire chief may be a woman or something – that has nothing to do with it. We are looking at qualifications,” she raved. “What diversity, equity, and inclusion has always been about is saying, “You know what, open this up. Don’t just look at the White men. Open it up and recognize that other people can be qualified.”
“And the fact that we want to, at a time when people are dying, decide that a country of immigrants is failing or people are dying because the same very people that built this country, ’cause the last time I checked, y’all didn’t say that anything was wrong with the White House and I can promise you, it was my ancestors that built the White House,” she added as if that had anything to do with the price of rice in China.
“So, listen, if we have been good enough to build this country, we are good enough to serve and die overseas, we are good enough to serve in other ways. And the fact that people actually decide that they want to engage in public service, whether it’s sitting in Congress or whether it’s serving on the fire department or the police department, should not be an issue. The fact is, stop trying to act as if only White men are the ones that are capable because right now, you’re sitting at a table with three very capable black women,” Crockett huffed, pointing out that Jennings was in the minority on the CNN set.
Crockett’s rant only further shows how defenseless the left is when it comes to their precious DEI programs which work well in theory at the faculty lounge level and in media newsrooms but fail the test in real life where competence is often a matter of life and death.
