Hollywood actor James Woods gave a heartbreaking interview on CNN after losing his home in the wildfires ravaging California.

The 77-year-old fought back the tears as he described the massive blaze that had since destroyed his entire neighbourhood.

Woods was forced to flee with his wife, Sarah, as their house was reduced to ashes.

“I’m 77 years old,” Woods said as his voice broke.

“I can’t walk up these hills—it’s like Mount Everest there. It’s like, you know, pretty steep.”

The wildfire, fueled by dry brush and fierce Santa Ana winds, ballooned from 10 acres to more than 200 as it engulfed multimillion-dollar properties across the state.

Woods didn’t hold back his emotions during his interview with CNN.

“I thought I’d be stronger than this,” Woods admitted and he wiped tears from his yeyes.

CNN’s anchor reassured Woods, saying, “Strength is not measured by whether you hold in crying or not.”

“Strength is what you are doing now and helping your neighbors and shining a light on the great, amazing work of all those firefighters and emergency crews out there.”

“We appreciate you coming on to reflect what so many others, just like you are experiencing in that raw emotion right now.”

The actor also provided an update on his 94-year-old neighbour, who was previously missing.

“He’s okay,” Woods said.

“They found him, and he’s in the hospital. But if anyone knows where Robert Treeteller is, please let me know.”

In 2021, California suffered a similar fire in the area destroyed more than 1,200 acres.

Earlier this week, Woods posted a short video showing it raining down around his home.
