So while today marks the launch of the McValue menu, there is another reason to applaud McDonald’s.

McDonald’s has joined the sanity bandwagon and will be ditching its diversity goals because they have finally realized how racist and illegal those usually are.

According to AP News:

Four years after launching a push for more diversity in its ranks, McDonald’s is ending some of its diversity practices, citing a U.S. Supreme Court decision that outlawed affirmative action in college admissions.

Even before Harvard was called out by the highest court of the land, it was painfully obvious how illegal these practices were.

If it’s unacceptable to appoint people because of how light their skin is, then it’s also illegal to appoint people based on how dark their skin is. That is what we call “equality under the law” and it’s reprehensible that so many American corporations tried to get away with these practices.

McDonald’s is the latest big company to shift its tactics in the wake of the 2023 ruling and a conservative backlash against diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Walmart, John Deere, Harley-Davidson and others rolled back their DEI initiatives last year.

McDonald’s said it will also pause “external surveys.” The burger giant didn’t elaborate, but several other companies, including Lowe’s and Ford Motor Co., suspended their participation in an annual survey by the Human Rights Campaign that measures workplace inclusion for LGBTQ+ employees.

Since when did corporations take surveys on their employee’s sexual preferences? Why is that even a thing and how does that have anything to do with “Human Rights?”

While it’s great that McDonald’s will finally do what it should have been doing, the same cannot be said for all American corporations, as Costco has decided this is the hill they wish to die on.

Back in my day, which was literally the other day, people earned things based on merit. However, woke corporations have taken it upon themselves to change the status quo and make everything about insignificant birth traits and presence in the bedroom. Not only is this foolish and should be totally condemned, but it’s illegal. And the fact that it took a SCOTUS case for these companies to finally admit that speaks volumes as to the ignorance and lack of logic behind these policies.
