Celebrity homes have not been spared by the California wildfires that have spread across Los Angeles and have forced thousands of people to flee.
Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and wife Heidi Montag lost their home in the fires.
“I’m watching our house burn down on the security cameras,” Pratt said in a Snapchat video, according to E News.
His sister, Stephanie Pratt, also made comments about the destruction.
“I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi & the kids,” she said in a statement. “And to all of our friends and neighbors who have lost their houses today.”
The largest blaze, the Palisades Fire, erupted on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles. It has already burned more than 2,900 acres, forcing the city of Los Angeles to issue an evacuation order.
Two other fires have erupted in Los Angeles County, one north of San Fernando that quickly burned 500 acres and and the other, in Altadenaburst, burned 1,000 acres in just a few hours.
Actor James Woods had to evacuate his home as the fire tore through his backyard. He thanked first responders for their responses to the fires.
“We were blessed to have LA fire and police depts doing their jobs so well,” Woods wrote on the social media platform, X. “We are safe and out. There are several elementary schools in our neighborhood and there was an enormous community effort to evacuate the children safely. Can not speak more highly of the LA fire and LAPD.”
Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick says his family had to evacuate for safety concerns.
“I just want to acknowledge and send thoughts and prayers to everyone in the Palisades right now,” Redick said during an away game against the Dallas Mavericks, according to The New York Post.
“Our family, my wife’s family, my wife’s twin sister, they’ve evacuated,” he also said. “I know a lot of people are freaking out right now, including my family. From the sound of things, with the winds coming (Tuesday night), I know a lot of people are scared. So I just want to acknowledge that. Thoughts and prayers for sure, and hope everybody stays safe.”
