A George Soros-funded group is actually arguing that President Joe Biden’s outrageous abuse of the clemency power should be used more often as an act of “mercy.”
The Brennan Center for Justice posted a piece on X Jan. 5 praising Biden, and captioned it with one of the article’s hot takes that just reeked of Soros’s soft-on-crime approach to criminal justice all over it. “When it comes to ensuring a fair justice system, we believe the presidential clemency power should be used more frequently as a vital mechanism of mercy,” Brennan Center’s ironically-named “Senior Director” of “Justice” Lauren-Brooke Eisen wrote. The nutty piece, written Dec. 12, boasted that Biden’s moves were “a major step in the right direction and a recognition of the excessively punitive nature of our criminal justice system.” Apparently subjecting mass murderers to capital punishment for slaughtering people is also considered “excessive” and “punitive.” Good grief.
This was written just 11 days before Biden would commute the sentences of “at least five child killers and several mass murderers” just before Christmas, according to the New York Post. These included some of “the nation’s most violent murderers — nine of them found too dangerous to live after butchering fellow inmates.” On a separate note, Biden would also later release 11 Yemeni detainees from Guantanamo Bay prison on Jan. 6, two of which were alleged to be the bodyguards for 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden. Soros funneled $4,950,000 into Brennan’s coffers between 2016 and 2023 alone.

But Brennan wasn’t fazed about reposting Eisen’s Dec.12 piece like Biden was doing some favor to society by letting mass murderers escape their fates. “There are thousands more Americans serving unjust sentences who also deserve pardons or commutations,” and apparently that included the death row inmates for whom Biden would eventually grant clemency. “We are still hopeful that he will grant clemency to the more than 40 people on federal death row whose sentences can be commuted to life without parole and more than 6,000 serving racially disparate drug sentences,” pleaded Eisen.
But it wouldn’t be long before Brennan would do a complete 180-degree turnaround on this and commit a gross act of hypocrisy in the face of the levers of political power eventually changing hands Jan. 20. “Trump Pardoning Jan. 6 Insurrectionists Would Endorse Attacks on Democracy,” read Brennan’s Jan. 3 screed written by Senior Fellow and MSNBC Legal Analyst Joyce Vance.
In an unbelievable display of complete lack of self-awareness, Vance railed that “[p]ardoning [Jan. 6 defendants] would be, as Brennan Center President Michael Waldman has said, a misuse of the president’s clemency power.” Ah, so commuting sentences for mass murderers and child killers isn’t a misuse of clemency power, but pardoning Jan. 6 defendants is? Wait, what!
Advocating on behalf of criminals, however, is right in line with the Soros brand of justice. MRC Business released an extensive exposé revealing how the Soros machine directs and controls the radical soft-on-crime prosecutors tearing apart the justice system across the country after obtaining 7,785 pages of internal communications and documents through public records requests. What was revealed was how Soros-funded groups set the political agenda for the prosecutors, incentivizing them to target police and the left’s political opponents while pushing them not to enforce certain laws, constituting an unlawful “prosecutorial veto” of duly established laws. The Brennan Center was named in the report.
At the time of the report’s release, at least 30 percent of the U.S. population were living under the boot of the Soros prosecutors who were pressured to sign pledges vowing to adhere to various Soros priorities. MRC Business calculated that Soros invested at least $117 million to install, direct and control at least 126 radicalized prosecutors. Couple Soros’s vice grip on the American criminal justice system with the $35 million he spent on anti-police groups and causes he’s funded since 2021 and you have a steamroller dedicated to crushing the fabric of law and order in the U.S.
It’s no wonder then why Biden would choose to flip America the middle finger by eventually giving Soros the Presidential Medal of Freedom just before he’s put out to pasture. The Soros machine’s grossly anti-American view of justice was apparently guiding Biden’s own.
