A video making the social media rounds shows an anti-squatting law in Florida in action as law enforcement was called in to remove a group of people.
“Florida doesn’t do ‘squatters rights.’” the popular End Wokeness account on X captioned the video clip which came from the CrimeCamNow YouTube channel.

Orlando police were called in the incident that was reportedly from last April as a group of people were allegedly occupying a home without the owner’s permission.
“A representative from the real estate company explained that he had observed the trespassers on the property, and although he saw them, they still entered, removing the electronic lock from the door,” the video explained.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation into law last year effectively eliminating squatters’ rights and imposing more penalties against offenders.
“You are not going to be able to commandeer somebody’s private property and expect to get away with it. We are in the state of Florida ending the squatter scam once and for all,” the Republican governor said during a press conference at the time.
The law “will give the homeowner the ability to quickly and legally remove a squatter from a property and which will increase criminal penalties for squatting. Now, we have not had the same type of issues here, as you’ve seen in California or New York. Nevertheless, our laws were really geared towards this not necessarily being a fad,” DeSantis said.
“They’re siding with the squatters,” he said of Democrat states like California and New York where the issue has escalated.
“In fact, we have seen squatters move in and claim residence. This forces a massive, long, drawn-out judicial review before they can even be removed from the property. These are people that never had a right to be in the property to begin with,” the governor said.
The video of authorities in Florida acting on the new law was a welcome sign for many on social media who noted the Sunshine State does not play games with law-breakers.
That’s the way it should be in every state. These low life’s have no rights to squat in people’s vacant homes and should be arrested immediately!!

Every other state should have the same laws.

We need this nationwide. Enough of people thinking they have a right to someone else’s property.

the funniest part is, the Orlando police, one of the most liberal cities in the state conducting the raid. I loved it. LONG overdue. Florida once again leading the way dealing with criminals doing stupid shit. Property owners should NEVER have to fight to get them OUT.
