Former Trump White House Chief Advisor Steve Bannon called Joe Biden’s recent Presidential Medal of Freedom to billionaire George Soros “disgraceful”, calling on incoming President Donald Trump to rescind the ward.
Soros was among the 19 recipients of the nation’s highest civilian honour nominated by Biden last week.
Additional nominees included:
Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington
U2 lead singer Bono
Argentinian soccer superstar Lionel Messi
“These nineteen Americans are great leaders who have made America a better place,” the White House said in a statement.
“They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world.”
George Soros’ son, Alex Soros, accepted the prestigious award on his father’s behalf.
Alex gained control of his father’s vast empire in 2023.
Soros has funnelled more than $32 billion toward left-wing causes and candidates through his Open Societies Foundation while playing a key role in electing progressive district attorneys in America’s largest cities.

Bannon called on President-elect Trump to rescind the award to Soros when he takes office on January 20.
“My recommendation to President Trump is that you notify today that you’re going to sign an executive order on Monday, one of the very first actions, is to rescind the Presidential Medal of Freedom that’s being given to George Soros today. Rescind it,” Bannon said.
The “War Room” host said that giving the award to “demonic” figures like Soros was disgraceful.
“It is a disgrace that a demonic individual like that has gone out of his way to try to destroy this country, destroy this country, would actually be given to mock this constitutional republic, to mock this constitutional republic, which he hates and is dedicated his life to destroying, that we would be presenting him, awarding him the highest civilian honor that you could give,” Bannon added.
