On Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris gave a brief but impactful glimpse into the bullet America dodged by voting for her Republican opponent last November.
X users shredded Harris for managing to screw up the Pledge of Allegiance prior to swearing in the Senators of the 119th Congress. In a clip of the incident, the vice president appears to flub the very first line, saying “I pledge allegiance to the United States…” before catching on to her error and falling back into place with the rest of the voices.

The moment quickly went viral on X where users had a lot to say about the gaffe:
Kamala is a disgrace. First graders know the Pledge and she doesn’t know the first line.

You try saying it when you’re drunk

They probably needed to have it on the teleprompter and run it past a focus group before she could really nail it.

How is this even possible? I haven’t said it since elementary school and still remember the words.

Give her a breathalyzer asap

I am shocked that she even knew the first couple of words.

This is why it’s important to say it every morning at school. You never know who will grow up to be president or vice president.

Kamala Harris is less intelligent than a grade schooler. Even they know the pledge of allegiance!
