New York Post demands ACCOUNTABILITY for journalists who covered up Biden’s mental decline

The New York Post called for journalists who covered up outgoing President Joe Biden’s alleged mental decline to be held accountable.
The newspaper argued that evidence of Biden’s compromised mental state was available, yet journalists failed to question or investigate it.
The news outlet claimed journalists “gaslighted America” by parroting White House claims that Biden showed no signs of mental decline.
Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan and journalist Matt Yglesias admitted to being “embarrassingly wrong” about Biden’s mental state, but their apologies were deemed insufficient.
The White House allegedly concealed evidence of Biden’s cognitive decline, smearing any conflicting evidence as “cheap fakes” and editing transcripts to erase signs of memory issues.

Conservative newspaper the New York Post has called for journalists who participated in covering up outgoing President Joe Biden’s mental decline to be held accountable.

In an editorial published on Wednesday, Jan. 1, the Post argued that the evidence of Biden’s mental decline was available to all. However, journalists involved in covering up the mental decline of Biden failed in their duty to investigate and question the evidence of the outgoing president’s compromised mental state.

“Every last one deserves scorn, but so do the journalists who not only let these fantastical fibs go unchallenged but even parroted the lies: Biden was showing no signs of mental decline, they insisted – and it was offensive, ignorant and borderline bigoted to even suggest otherwise,” the Post wrote.

“The entire idea that Biden was anything but healthy – virile, even – was treated as a right-wing, tin-foil-hat talking point. Dem-friendly journalists saw the same evidence as the rest of us that Biden was compromised, and instead of being skeptical, asking questions and putting the White House’s feet to the fire – doing their jobs – they joined the crusade to gaslight America.”

Former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan and progressive journalist Matt Yglesias have both admitted to being “embarrassingly wrong” about their previous claims regarding Biden’s mental state. However, their apologies do little to rectify the damage that has been done. In turn, the Post‘s editorial board, called for the accountability of these journalists through the Wednesday op-ed.

“Since the legacy media completely and willfully failed to cover one of the biggest stories of this decade, that the president of the United States was unfit for office from Day one and his entire staff was hiding it, that seems like a fair shake. No one who perpetuated, concealed or ignored this grotesque scandal should ever live it down,” the conservative tabloid concluded.

WSJ reports about Biden’s cognitive decline

The call for accountability comes after a series of reports and opinion pieces began to surface following the victory of President-elect Donald Trump, which brought to light concerns about Biden’s mental health while in office.

The Wall Street Journal opinion piece titled “The President Who Wasn’t There” featured testimony from White House staffers who noted Biden’s apparent cognitive decline on certain days, with staff members effectively running the administration. These concerns were echoed by public opinion polls that consistently showed a significant portion of the American public believing Biden was too old to be president.

A 2022 poll conducted by the Post revealed that roughly 75 percent of voters wanted a different Democrat to run instead of Biden. Despite all this, the “Biden is fine” narrative persisted, with the White House going so far as to smear any evidence of Biden’s decline as “cheap fakes” and editing transcripts to erase signs of his memory issues.
