The State Department warned Monday that Russia could be close to sharing advanced “space and satellite technology” with North Korea as well as recognizing their nuclear program rather than continuing its prior commitment to denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula.
“The DPRK is already receiving Russian military equipment and training,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said from Seoul. “Now, we have reason to believe that Moscow intends to share advance space and satellite technology with Pyongyang.”
North Korea has sent to troops to Russia to help fight in the war in Ukraine.
The Ukrainian government estimates that about 3,800 North Korean troops have been killed in the conflict.
