It’s the gift that keeps on giving, even 4 decades later!

This Illinois man was doing some work on his family home including installing some drywall when he had the bright idea to look inside the wall to make sure nothing was being closed up by the work.

That’s when he saw a wrapped box that was a blast from the past.

Tim King, a Lombard resident and the owner of TKING Construction Services, was performing a small remodel on the bathroom of his parents’ home when he found a hidden treasure tucked away behind the drywall — a decades-old Christmas gift.

Yes, in age old Disney wrapping paper, a little bit yellowed over time, King pulled out a box from behind the wall.

And somewhat to his surprise the package had his name on it.

‘So when I pulled that out, it was super old wrapping paper, and then I was like, ‘Oh crap, that has my name on it,” King said.

King thinks the gift may have fallen into the wall since his parents once used the attic to hide gifts ahead of the holidays.

Tim waited for his mom to get home before he unwrapped the box to see what was on the inside.

He figured she’d want to see him finally have the chance to open the gift 46 years later.

When he finally did open it, King discovered a set of Matchbox Thunder Jets, which he said would have been a great gift.

“I would have been 6, so that is pretty awesome,” he said.

You can watch the video of the discovery (here) and the unwrapping (here) on his construction company’s Instagram page.

A true Christmas miracle 4 and a half decades in the making.
