The hit show Yellowstone wrapped last month after being one of the most popular series on television ever since it premiered back in 2018. Now, new details are emerging about the upcoming Yellowstone spinoff The Madison, which is set to star legendary actress Michelle Pfeiffer.
New Details About The Madison
Yellowstone executive producer Christina Voros has confirmed that her crew has shifted all of their efforts to The Madison.
“The team that I’ve been working with has moved from Yellowstone into The Madison, so I know that new show is happening, and Taylor is excited about writing it,” Voros recently said.
This was a reference to Taylor Sheridan, creator of Yellowstone and The Madison. The new series will follow a family of New York City natives who live in the Madison River valley of central Montana. It’s been described by the Paramount Network as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection.”
Initial reports alleged that The Madison would “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash.” It’s unclear if this will still be the specific plot, however.
The Madison Will Be Different From Yellowstone
Voros went on to say that The Madison will be much different from Yellowstone.
“It’s such a different story. The common ground is the landscape,” she explained. “We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens. So, it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished. There are parallels in the scope of landscape and a human being’s place in that space, but it’s coming at it from a completely different point of view.”
It was announced over the summer that Pfeiffer would both star in and executive produce The Madison.
“Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace. She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, The Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan,” Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global co-CEO and president and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, said back in August.

More Stars Of The Madison
The former Lost star Matthew Fox will be joining Pfeiffer on this show. He’ll play Paul, a “self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors.”
Patrick J. Adams, who previously starred with Meghan Markle on Suits, has been cast on the show as well. When asked about the amazing cast of The Madison in October, Adams replied, “Yes — and I have no idea what I’m allowed to say about that show. So, I’m going to say absolutely nothing except ‘yes’ to what you just said.”
Pfeiffer has been an A-list Hollywood star for decades. She has been nominated for three Oscars, and she is arguably best known for playing Catwoman in the 1992 hit movie Batman Returns.
No premiere date has been announced for The Madison. However, it is believed that it will be released sometime this year. Filming appears to currently be underway in Montana.
We can’t wait to see The Madison when it finally comes out. Here’s hoping it’s as good as Yellowstone was!
