As speculation would step aside for reality, insiders suggested “shock and awe” was inbound from the president-elect to kick off his second term “before Congress gets its act in gear.”
In the lead-up to and time since the presidential election, it was made abundantly clear that President-elect Donald Trump had a limited window in which to implement his America First agenda.
With a number of staffing nominations expected to face obstruction in Congress where various factions of the GOP were jockeying to better position themselves, the power of the pen was set to be unleashed after the inauguration as reports indicated the “first day, and maybe couple of days” would be filled with executive orders.
During Fox News’ coverage of the vote for speaker of the House on Friday, Bret Baier joined Harris Faulkner and relayed the expectations of Trump’s first day back in the White House.
“I’ve been told that it’s gonna be ‘shock and awe’ as far as executive orders and all the lists and things that are gonna happen on January 20th, and that they’re gonna throw a lot in the first day, and maybe couple of days, that will have to be digested,” said the anchor. “But it’s action that’s happening right away before Congress gets its act in gear and passes whatever it passes.”

Unafraid to throw the weight of the executive office around, Trump had already signaled his favor to staff his cabinet with recess appointments if nominees get held up in addition to voicing his stance on imposing tariffs on countries like Canada, China, and Mexico if steps weren’t taken to impede drug and human trafficking.
It was also expected that the once and future commander-in-chief would make efforts to undo some of the unilateral actions taken by President Joe Biden, even through his final days that had included alterations in succession for a number of departments in the executive branch.
White House press secretary designee Karoline Leavitt had said in a statement after the election, “The American people can bank on President Trump using his executive power on day one to deliver on the promises he made to them on the campaign trail.”
This, as had been reported by NBC News, had included overturning policies instituted under Biden that allowed for reimbursements for military members who traveled to seek out abortions and the advancement of gender ideology with provisions for chemical castration and genital mutilation procedures.
Reactions on social media were not only welcoming of the promise of “shock and awe,” but expected nothing less after being subjected to four years of globalist open border policies, divisive social engineering schemes under the guise of “equity” and the manipulations and regulatory overreach of climate zealots.
“Dang, I can’t wait,” said one user. “January 20th is going to be on a Monday, I will be taking off that day. I want to be focused on everything that happens from the Oval Office that day! It is so exciting.”
It’s going to be AF!

Right at the podium. As soon as the oath is finished, set it up and start signing executive orders for an hour reversing all Biden’s ‘burn down America’ executive orders in front of the whole screaming crowd. Read the 1st out loud. Sign. Wait for the applause to die down. Repeat.
