LSU gymnastics star Olivia ‘Livvy‘ Dunne and her boyfriend, National League Rookie of the Year Paul Skenes, were partying on Bourbon Street just hours before the New Year’s terrorist attack that killed 15 people.
Dunne and Skenes were joined by Pirates prospect Bubba Chandler and his girlfriend at a bar in the area before tragedy struck.
Dunne posted a photo of the couples having a good time on her Instagram story.
Another image showed Bourbon Street adorned with Georgia flags on buildings, a tip of the hat to one of the participants in last evening’s Sugar Bowl.
The photo provided no context, with the exception of the social media influencer adding a broken heart emoji.

Livvy Dunne In New Orleans
Livvy Dunne’s photos were posted just hours before a tragic Bourbon Street terror attack in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
At least 14 individuals, not including the perpetrator, lost their lives during the heinous attack, while numerous others were injured and/or hospitalized.
Suspect Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old U.S. Army veteran from Texas, drove a truck into a crowd in an apparent ISIS-inspired terrorist attack.
Jabbar was killed in a subsequent shootout with police. The FBI claims that the killer acted alone despite initial reports suggesting otherwise.
Looking at Livvy Dunne’s photo of the street, one can’t help but think how bad the death toll would have been if the attacker had gone forward with his plot earlier.
Jabbar drove his truck onto Bourbon Street at about 3:16 am. Many revelers had likely headed home shortly after midnight. Dunne’s photo shows how packed the street was earlier.

Sports World Rocked
It’s certainly disconcerting how close Livvy Dunne, Skenes, and Chandler were to the attack.
The sports world was already rocked upon learning that one of the victims of the New Orleans attack was a former football player for the Princeton Tigers.
Tiger Bech, who twice earned second-team All-Ivy League honors during his playing days, was identified as one of the victims who the attacker struck.
He was just 28 years old.
Bech died after being held on life support at a local hospital as his family arrived to be there by his side.
