In America, compelled speech is unconstitutional, especially when it goes against one’s religious beliefs. However, some leftists working in the public sector don’t care about that, as they are beholden to progressive priorities, despite it being against our founding principles.

A teacher was awarded $450,000 after being dismissed for refusing to use a student’s preferred pronouns.

According to CITC:

Vivian Geraghty, a former teacher at Jackson Local Schools in Stark County, claimed in a 2022 lawsuit she was instructed to address two students by their preferred pronouns and names. She claimed that request signified the students’ decisions to transition to genders inconsistent with their sex assigned at birth.

Geraghty argued in the suit that using these pronouns went against “scientific understanding” and her Christian faith.

That is because preferred pronouns are nothing more than a delusional lie and any school forcing this on the masses has no business educating students.

“But as soon as Defendants found out that Ms. Geraghty had a religious basis for resisting their attempt to implement an orthodoxy, they forced her to resign,” the lawsuit reads.

Not only is this ridiculous, but it teaches students that they can throw a temper tantrum the moment they do not get their way.

Two years later, the school agreed to pay $450,000 in damages and attorney’s fees for violating the teacher’s freedom of speech, according to legal group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).

“No school official can force a teacher to set her religious beliefs aside in order to keep her job,” ADF Legal Counsel Logan Spena said. “The school tried to force Vivian to accept and repeat the school’s viewpoint on issues that go to the foundation of morality and human identity, like what makes us male or female, by ordering her to personally participate in the social transition of her students.”

The school was forced to pay nearly half a million dollars due to its commitment to foolish ideology. These individuals are not educators but activists, and they should not be responsible for edumacating the next generation.
