President-elect Donald Trump will reportedly be headlining a Washington, D.C., rally one day before he is sworn in as the nation’s 47th president.

The “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” will be held at Capital One Arena on Jan. 19, according to an announcement from the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee. A sign-up link from the committee notes that the event kicks off at 3 p.m. ET, CBS News reported.

The arena, which can reportedly hold about 20,000 attendees, is home to the Washington Wizards basketball team and the Washington Capitals hockey team and will be hosting “a victory rally you’ll never forget” for Trump supporters.

“We have made our arena available to every administration for inaugural events, dating back decades, irrespective of party,” a spokesperson for Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) said in a statement to 7News. “We are happy that President Trump has accepted our offer and we will welcome him and his guests to Capital One Arena on January 19.”

Multiple events are slated to be held on January 20 following Trump being sworn in for a second term. But the pre-inauguration rally will feature the former and future president who is expected to speak to attendees in his first rally in D.C. since January 6, 2021, when he spoke to crowds in a speech on the Ellipse ahead of the events that unfolded at the Capitol Building.

Other speakers for the rally have not yet been announced by the inaugural committee.

Earlier this week, Trump met with Democrat D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser who said she had a “great meeting” with the president-elect.

“Today, President Trump and I had a great meeting to discuss our shared priorities for the President’s second term,” Bowser said in a statement on X. “President Trump and I both want Washington, DC to be the best, most beautiful city in the world and we want the capital city to reflect the strength of our nation.”

The two met in 2016 as Trump began his first term in the White House but the relationship hit the rocks as crime, protests, and other events became points of contention. They locked horns over the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020 but on Monday, Bowser saw an opportunity for a renewed partnership between Washington’s local government and the federal government.

“I am optimistic that we will continue to find common ground with the President during his second term, and we look forward to supporting a successful inauguration on January 20,” Bowser said.

A U.S. Secret Service spokesperson told 7News that the “safety and security” of the incoming president and rally-goers is a priority.

“While the Secret Service does not discuss specific means and methods of our protective operations, we are working closely with our federal and local partners to ensure the safety and security of President-elect Trump and all attendees during the event at Capital One Arena on Jan. 19,” the spokesperson said. “While road closures and delays are to be expected, we strive to minimize disruptions to the public.”
