Seriously, whoever’s in charge of deciding what the generations are called — that guy should be fired and replaced with someone who’s not quite so cruel:

With the arrival of the new year, a new generation is officially on the horizon: Gen Beta.

Defined as individuals born between 2025 and 2039, most members of this generation are expected to live well into the 22nd century, according to social researcher and futurist Mark McCrindle.

That’s right, you read that correctly:

They named the newest generation “beta,” folks.

Unsurprisingly, people have some thoughts.

Perhaps the most depressing implication:

The futurist also anticipated that Gen Beta will be a generation characterized by significant technological integration and a strong appreciation for diversity.

Our future will be marked by a generation of DEI betas. It’s bleak.
