Over half of American voters want the FBI to investigate former US Rep. Liz Cheney for her role in the committee that investigated the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest.

According to a new Rasmussen poll, 40% of Likely U.S. Voters have a favorable opinion of Cheney, while Forty-two per cent (42%) view the former Wyoming congresswoman unfavorably, and 17% are not sure.

Liz Cheney returned to the headlines this week for her alleged criminal conduct during her time on the January 6 Select Subcommittee.

As we reported, Cheney was caught contacting the star witness and ignoring witnesses who would debunk her false narrative.

The chairman of the House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), issued a report alleging Cheney improperly coordinated the star witness in the committee’s investigation of the January 6 Capitol breach.

Loudermilk found that Cheney contacted Cassidy Hutchinson without her attorney’s consent. However, Cheney dismissed the allegations as a political attack designed to undermine the committee’s so-called findings; “January 6 showed Donald Trump for who [he] really is – a cruel and vindictive man who allowed violent attacks to continue against our Capitol and law enforcement officers while he watched television and refused for hours to instruct his supporters to stand down and leave,” she said.

“The January 6th Committee’s hearings and report featured scores of Republican witnesses, including many of the most senior officials from Trump’s own White House, campaign and Administration,” Cheney added.

“Their allegations do not reflect a review of the actual evidence and are a malicious and cowardly assault on the truth. No reputable lawyer, legislator or judge would take this seriously.”

President Trump told NBC’s Kirsten Welker that “everybody” on the Congressional January 6 Committee “should go to jail.”

The news came amid reports that Joe Biden is announcing preemptive pardons for congressional members who lied to the American public about the events surrounding January 6, 2021.
