Actor and comedian Rob Schneider was reportedly approached by the owner of the Los Angeles Times about launching a conservative version of ‘The View.’”

Patrick Soon-Shiong reportedly spoke with Schneider following President-elect Donald Trump’s election victory in November, tossing around the idea of a “MAGA-friendly” iteration of the leftwing ABC talk show, according to former CNN media reporter Oliver Darcy.

Soon-Shiong “welcomed Cheryl Hines and Rob Schneider to the newspaper’s offices last month amid talk of a possible partnership,” Darcy reported in his Status newsletter.

“Schneider had thought up an idea to create a conservative answer to ‘The View,’” Darcy wrote, adding that he “had spoken with Soon-Shiong about possibly partnering on the effort.”

The 61-year-old “Saturday Night Live” alum and Trump supporter had talked about “an all-ladies talk show” that would come from the No Apologies Media effort he launched last month.

Promoting his book “You Can Do It” during a Fox News interview, Schneider announced, “No Apologies Media, we’re going to do an all ladies talk show and that won’t be like The View,” Schneider told Fox News’ Trace Gallagher.

“Is it the opposite of The View?” Gallagher asked.

“It could be, but we’re just going to do a show — it will be the opposite because it will be entertaining! It’ll be funny, we’re going to have funny women on it that will tell jokes and have funny stories — and health and wellness,” the “Deuce Bigelow” star replied.

“It’s going to be a funny show, not like a drowning people and politics, it’s not going to be shaming people, and making people wince,” said Schneider, who voted for Trump after endorsing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the 2024 presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times owner has ruffled feathers at the outlet as he triggered leftists who quit their jobs after he blocked the paper from endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris. Soon-Shiong reportedly told the editorial board to “take a break from writing” about President-elect Trump and recently added CNN conservative commentator and former Bush administration staffer Scott Jennings to the editorial board.

“I think one of my concerns is you as a journalist would understand that’s news versus opinion. And we’ve conflated news and opinion,” Soon-Shiong told Gallagher in November.

“So, the first thing I want to do is ensure that we explicitly say this is news. And if it’s news, it should just be the facts period. And if it’s an opinion, that’s maybe an opinion of the news and that’s what I call now a voice,” Soon-Shiong said, adding, “And so, we want voices from all sides to be heard.”

“Because if we just have the one side, it becomes nothing else but an echo chamber. And so, it’s going to be risky and difficult. I’m going to take a lot of heat which I already am,” Soon-Shiong said.

Schneider’s meeting with Soon-Shiong was confirmed by a spokesperson for the actor.

“Rob did have a wonderful meeting with Mr. Soon-Shiong and liked the new direction the LA Times is taking,” the representative said, according to the New York Post.
