Eleven teens in the Chicago suburbs have been arrested and charged with luring men out to the suburbs for dates and then beating them up.

These kids really have nothing better to do.

One 41-year-old man described arranging to meet someone for a date, only to find the teens waiting for him.

The teens ‘confronted him verbally and battered him.’

They also damaged his car when he jumped in it to escape then they pursued him in their own vehicles. The man only evaded them by driving to the police station to report the crime.

While that man was giving his report to the officers, a second man burst into the police station battered and bleeding.

This time the teens had slashed his tires, so he couldn’t get away like the last guy, but he managed to get help at a nearby house and call the police.

Police were able to review footage of the incidents, which led to the identification and arrest of the teens involved.

Where would these teens get such a horrible idea?

When questioned, some of the teens said that they got the idea for the attacks from a social media trend they saw online. The incidents mirror similar ones recently reported in Australia and another allegedly involving Salisbury University students.

It’s an internet trend.

This has also become a trend in Chicago as an easy way for criminals of any age to lure in victims.

In a statement, Police Chief Michael Eterno said, ‘We are asking parents to take these incidents as an opportunity to talk with their teenage children about the seriousness of actively participating in these types of trends they see on social media.’

The teens are facing charges of felony aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and mob action. Some also face charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and one faces two felony counts of a hate crime.

The hate crime because one of the teens allegedly yelled a racial slur at some point.

It just goes to show, the best place to meet potential dates is in church, not on some random dating site.
