I thought I’d check in and see how you guys felt about this.
Arizona State lost to Texas in overtime yesterday in the College Football Playoff, and when the Peach Bowl organizers handed out the Offensive MVP trophy, they decided to give it to Cam Skattebo, the running back for the losing team.
So what say you, reader: Is this an everyone-gets-a-trophy moment, or did Cam deserve it?
His team was an 11-point underdog, and while the game looked to be out of reach early, Arizona State battled back and forced not one, but two overtimes, nearly winning the game in the first OT. And they made this comeback with as much help from Cam Skattebo as humanly possible.
Some highlights:
You tell me, did Cam Skattebo deserve the award for Offensive MVP? Lots of people out there doubted this kid, but to put up 284 yards in a College Football Playoff game is quite the accomplishment.
Interested to see where this kid ends up on the NFL Draft board come April.
