Outrage and accusations flew thick and fast after it appeared that Ohio State quarterback Will Howard was not allowed on stage after the team won the Rose Bowl.
In a video that is quickly going viral, Howard can be seen attempting to get past a man to join the rest of his team on the stage as ceremonies begin. The man appears to listen to Howard, just to deny him room on the stage.
Watch:
Shame on @ESPN @rosebowlgame and @OhioStateFB team for not letting their quarterback on stage after winning the Rose Bowl.
Where the hell is the coach?
The man at the end of the stage should be fired.
This is NOT a good look.pic.twitter.com/YnhidPEGJG

While it’s unclear exactly why he was refused, X users had some theories:
Every black player on stage but not the white QB. @espn is completely racist against white men. This is bullshit.

I thought that was weird. Howard is a super nice guy he didn’t deserve that. He had an awesome game.

Where’s his coach? Why did his teammates not intervene? Why did that suit not get off the stage and let him up there? Could it be possibly because he gave credit to the one person @ESPN can’t tolerate? Jesus Christ?

WOW! How disrespectful. They even looked at him – so I won’t believe the excuse “Oh geez in the moment we didn’t notice”. This is so disrespectful

That is not a good look. The guy in the suit should have traded places with Howard.

Hmmm I think I know why woke espn didn’t want him up there.

What about his Teammates? How about the 2nd string jump off and switch places with him. So disrespectful!

ESPN is on the DEI bandwagon. They are racist.
