On Wednesday, Joe Biden delivered an address from Camp David, condemning the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans and reaffirming the nation’s commitment to combating terrorism.
But rather than uniting the country, the brief speech, riddled with slurred words and bizarre facial injuries, has only fueled speculation about Biden’s health and ability to lead.
From a hangar at Camp David, Biden condemned the New Orleans attack, in which 15 lives were lost when a rented truck plowed into a Bourbon Street crowd.
The attacker, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, was killed in a firefight with law enforcement.
Explosives and an ISIS flag found in Jabbar’s vehicle left no doubt about his motives. The FBI has labeled the event an act of terrorism.
Biden also addressed an explosion outside the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, where a Tesla Cybertruck rigged with explosives detonated, injuring several and killing the driver.
While his message aimed to reassure, viewers were left with more questions than answers. Biden’s delivery was marked by frequent stumbles.
Newsmax White House Correspondent James Rosen wrote on X, stating, “My report for Newsmax this morning on the [STRANGE] appearance by [Joe Biden] at Camp David last night, when the commander-in-chief, discussing the New Year’s Day #terroristattacks, slurred his words worse than usual and sported a cut and bruise on his face that the White House refused to explain.”

Mark and Emma, good morning to you. President Biden’s four and a half minutes of remarks, after which he took no questions, were delivered from a hangar on the grounds of Camp David and included one noteworthy disclosure about how the perpetrator in the New Orleans attack prepared for it.[…]
In addition to the President’s poor diction, more acute than usual, viewers noticed a cut to his lower lip, an apparent bruise to his chin, and a slight disfigurement to his jawline, all of which suggested that the 82-year-old incumbent sustained a fall or some other hard impact to his face. The White House did not respond to Newsmax’s request for an explanation of the injuries.
