The suspect in the deadly terror attack in New Orleans in which at least 10 people were killed and 35 others injured, is a U.S. citizen, a source told Just the News.
The suspect has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, according to reports. The source also told Just the News that he was from Houston, Texas.
A source told a local new outlet that Jabbar, 42, was carrying an ISIS flag. Police say he was dressed in military gear. NBC News has also identified the suspect, who drove a pickup through the city’s French Quarter in the attack.
He was shot and killed by the police after the attack.
The FBI confirmed Wednesday that it was investigating the incident as a terrorist attack.
Jabbar allegedly drove a car through a crowd of people and opened fire on police. At least ten people were killed and 35 have been injured.
The truck that the driver used had a Texas license plate, but was allegedly smuggled across the southern border at Eagle Pass, Texas, according to Fox News.
However, it has not been confirmed whether or not the suspect drove the truck across the border.
