Former Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake announced she won’t seek political office again after losing her Arizona race to Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) in the November election.

The defeat to the trash-talking leftist was the second setback for Lake who also ran for Arizona governor in 2022 but lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs and now she’s calling it quits on her political career as she prepares for her new job with the incoming Donald J. Trump administration.

“We know the movement that we have in Arizona, and I will never take that for granted. But there is a corrupt machine here that is hellbent on making sure I never hold office. So, I won’t put my family (and myself) through the torture of running again,” Lake said in a Saturday post to X.

“I will go to Washington, D.C., return @VOANews to its glory days, and help President Trump Make America Great Again,” she added. Lake was tapped by Trump to head up the Voice of America, a position where she can use her news industry experience to keep the government propaganda outfit honest.

“I am pleased to announce that Kari Lake will serve as our next Director of the Voice of America,” Trump announced in a post to Truth Social earlier this month.

“She will be appointed by, and work closely with, our next head of the U.S. Agency for Global Media, who I will announce soon, to ensure that the American values of Freedom and Liberty are broadcast around the World fairly and accurately, unlike the lies spread by the Fake News Media,” the soon-to-be 47th president said. “Kari was a beloved News Anchor in Arizona, which supported me by record margins, for over 20 years. Congratulations Kari!”

“I am honored that President Trump has asked me to lead the Voice of America,” Lake said in response to the honor. “@VOANews is a vital international media outlet dedicated to advancing the interests of the United States by engaging directly with people across the globe and promoting democracy and truth.”

“With an audience of 326 million people, Voice of America delivers information in 48 languages. Under my leadership, the VOA will excel in its mission: chronicling America’s achievements worldwide,” she added. “Thank you for putting your trust in me, President Trump. I look forward to leading the Voice of America, and I can’t wait to get started.”

“Under my direction, we’re going to restore neutrality to reporting at @VOANews. I’m going to make sure that all journalists there cover the Trump administration fairly so that the story going out across the globe is an accurate depiction of what’s happening in America,” Lake said in a Friday post to X.
