Companies and wealthy individuals who had previously opposed President-elect Donald J. Trump have had a change of heart and are now donating millions of dollars to his inauguration.

There’s nothing like backing a winner that brings influential people around and billionaires are now flocking to the incoming president, looking to cozy up to him before he takes over next month with Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, two of the richest men on the planet, now apparently onboard the Trump train.

“The first term, everybody was fighting me,” the soon-to-be 47th president said at a recent news conference from Mar-a-Lago when asked about his meeting with Apple CEO Tim Cook. “In this term, everybody wants to be my friend.”

The new political era that dawned when voters deposited Kamala Harris and her Democratic party in the garbage can of history is a big change from the last time that Trump was in power when Zuckerberg’s Meta was among the tech companies that completely de-platformed him after the so-called “insurrection” on January 6, 2021.

The then-president had his accounts on both Facebook and Instagram suspended and in his new book “Save America,” Trump accused Zuck of “plotting” against him four years ago.

“He told me there was nobody like Trump on Facebook. But at the same time, and for whatever reason, steered it against me,” he wrote. “We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

In the book, Trump said that the Facebook founder was “always plotting to install shameful Lock Boxes in a true PLOT AGAINST THE PRESIDENT.”

But Zuckerberg has warmed to him and was awed by his reaction to nearly being assassinated at a rally in July when the bloodied Trump defiantly rose and thrust his fist in the air, imploring supporters to “Fight! Fight! Fight!” in what quickly became one of the most iconic images in American history.

“Seeing Donald Trump get up after getting shot in the face and pump his fist in the air with the American flag is one of the most badass things I’ve ever seen in my life,” said an impressed Zuckerberg in an interview with Bloomberg.

After Trump won the election, Zuckerberg made a pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago to meet with him and weeks later, Meta donated a million dollars to his inauguration.

“Mark Zuckerberg has been very clear about his desire to be a supporter of and a participant in this change that we’re seeing all around America, all around the world with this reform movement that Donald Trump is leading,” adviser Stephen Miller said during a recent Fox News appearance.

Bezos, who owns Amazon and the Washington Post, has also dispensed with past hostilities for Trump and donated $1 million to his inauguration which will be streamed live on Amazon Prime Video.

At a recent New York Times DealBook summit, the online retail tycoon said he’s “very optimistic” about Trump’s second term.

“What I’ve seen so far is he is calmer than he was the first time and more settled,” said Bezos. “You’ve probably grown in the last eight years. He has, too.”

Major automakers are also backing Trump after the Biden administration’s disastrous efforts to force electric vehicles that few people want on the public.

“Ford, one of the world’s largest automakers, recently announced it will be making a seven-figure donation to Trump’s inauguration in January,” according to Fox News. “Other major automakers, such as GM and Toyota, will also make individual donations of $1 million to Trump.”
