As was obvious in our roundup of the 9 Times The View Attacked American Voters in 2024, the ABC News program had a vested interest in trying to get the Democratic candidates across the finish line, whether it was for President Biden or Vice President Harris. But they did more than just attack the voters, on several occasions they nearly pulled muscles while trying to prop up the ticket.

In order to help prop up the Democratic Party ticket, the cast had to beclown themselves with increasingly bafoon-ish claims and antics. They claimed it was “brave” to be afraid of Trump, claimed Trump was afraid of “funny women” like Harris, and repeatedly called on the rest of the liberal media to do like they were to drag the ticket over the finish line.

Presented here in chronological order are 11 of the most embarrassing times The View tried to help the Democrats win the White House.

‘Brave’ to Be Afraid of Trump! The View Tries to Rescue VP Harris from Their Interview

In January, The View was desperate to help clean up Harris’s mess from her appearance on the show the previous day when she admitted she was afraid of Trump. “And Kamala basically, she’s not personally scared. She’s scared for the country because the country will have a problem if he is in office and he also will go after his enemies. Hello?” co-host Joy Behar scoffed.

Moderator Whoopi Goldberg lashed out at the ‘snowflakes’ doing after Harris over it:

You know, you folks are the snowflakeiest people I’ve ever seen. You don’t know what she’s scared of. You don’t know? You haven’t been listening to what this man has said he’s going to do on day one? How he’s treated women? You don’t think we’re uncomfortable when somebody, says, yeah, I’m the guy that got rid of Roe v. Wade? What do you mean, what are you scared of?

Haines DEMANDS Media DO MORE to Help Reelect Biden, Air Camp Events

With the election still months away, things didn’t look good for Biden in May, which caused co-host Sarah Haines to demand the rest of the media to do more to reelect Biden. “I actually blame the media slightly. We talked last week a lot about how I don’t think people are able to watch this Trump trial 24/7, like all the time,” she lamented.

She called on the media to give the Biden campaign an in-kind donation by covering his rallies:

Now, we’re talking about we’re in a campaign. We should be hearing more. We say, why don’t we hear from the Biden administration? I don’t leave that all on the Biden administration’s door. The media needs to cover things. For example, abortion is a winning issue for Democrats. Women’s reproductive health. Vice President Harris did an event last week. I couldn’t find any coverage on it. And that’s a Democrat’s winning stance.

Behar Admits She Self-Censors Criticism of Biden Lest It Elect Trump

A few days later, in a conversation with comedian Bill Maher, Behar admitted that – despite actively trying to downplay peoples’ concerns about Biden’s obvious mental decline – she self-censors herself on-air.

Maher called out what she was doing as a way to lose credibility with an audience (Click “expand”):

BEHAR: I’m nervous about saying anything against Biden because I feel, not that I have so much power and you have some more than I do obviously, but —

BILL MAHER: oh, I don’t know about that.

BEHAR: Are you afraid that you might influence the people who are on the fence?

MAHER: I think you lose all credibility. I do. My bond with my audience has always been I don’t pull a punch. My bond with my audience is you’re not going to like everything I say but you know I’m saying what I really think is true.

Behar: Men Who Criticize Kamala ‘Fear’ ‘Funny Women,’ Are Bad in Bed

In addition to circling the wagons for Biden after his disastrous debate performance against Trump, The View also defended Harris from Trump’s jokes about her inappropriate laughing fits. According to Behar, such criticism was indicative of a man uncomfortable with Harris’s comedic mastery and that he was bad in bed.

Behar’s rambling quickly expanded to all men who criticized Harris’s inappropriate laughing fits. According to her, they had a “fear” of “funny women”:

What really ticks me off about him though is this “Laughing Kamala” remark. It’s such a sexist remark because a guy I was with over the weekend, a friend of mine. They said, “Kamala’s laugh annoys me.” Remember they said that about Hillary’s laugh, that she was cackling. And men, you know, they don’t like a funny woman. They’re afraid if you laugh or you make a joke, that maybe you’ll do that when they’re in bed with you. It’s like this fear. This fear of women’s laughing and comedy.

The View: Harris Is a ‘Moderate,’ ‘Former Prosecutors Aren’t Leftist’

Once Harris took over as the Democratic nominee, the pressure was on to try to convert Harris from the running mate who was supposedly the leftist check on the supposedly moderate Biden in 2020 into the “moderate” candidate this time around.

According to far-left co-host Sunny Hostin, not only was Harris a moderate, it was somehow completely impossible for former prosecutors (like both of them) to be leftists at all:

Well, to be clear, she’s pretty moderate also. She’s pretty moderate also. Yeah, but former prosecutors aren’t leftist.

The View’s Fake Republican Claims Kamala Harris Is a ‘Centrist’ Now

Even faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin was trying to gaslight American voters about how Harris was a “centrist” now despite running as a leftist in 2020:

HOSTIN: Well, she couldn’t be the prosecutor then. She couldn’t be hard on crime then.

FARAH GRIFFIN: She put out a statement saying she wanted to bail out people who were protesting in streets. So, people took that a certain way. They felt like she was running to the left and I think that’s why she didn’t resonate in that primary and someone like Biden won. She’s not doing that now. This is a centrist-Democratic message that she’s pushing.

HOSTIN: She’s leaning into who she really is.

Whoopi Reads Talking Points from Card, Claims VP ‘Never’ Border Czar

With the emphasis now on Harris’s record as vice president, there was a spotlight put on her inability to get the U.S.-Mexico border under control despite being appointed the border czar by Biden.

NewsBusters readers might remember the revisionist history the liberal media collectively undertook in trying to claim Harris was not involved in stopping the border crisis, all at the direction of the White House, complete with talking points card.

Goldberg herself read from a similar card while trying to lie to the American people about Harris’s record:

Kamala Harris was never the border czar. Never. Her job was to deal and find out the root causes of migration from Central America. That was what Biden asked her to do. To lead diplomatic efforts to reduce poverty, violence, corruption in the northern triangle, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

Now, if y’all ain’t sure about this, ask Joe Biden. He gave her the job. She made sure that she went to all these countries to see what was going on. That was the job she was asked to do, and that’s what she did.

The View Praises ‘Joyful’ DNC, Kamala ‘Running a Flawless Campaign’

Speaking of sticking to the talking points; they dutifully parroted party claims that the Democratic National Convention was oh so “joyful,” “hopeful,” and commended Harris for supposedly running a “flawless campaign.”

Hostin gushed that the convention “was a party” and “the first one” she actually wanted to attend. She laughably claimed it was “unbelievably patriotic” (Click “expand”):

HOSTIN: And when Lil Jon came down the staircase, I was like, ‘this is a different kind of convention!’ Okay? And what I also felt like, Whoopi, was, you know, when Trump was president, we heard his inaugural speech, which was death and despair and how horrible our lives were and only he could fix it.

(…)

So, it’s joyful! It was joyful! I mean, and people always seem to think that Republicans have, you know the corner on patriotism and the flag. I was waving my flag, people were waving their flags. It was unbelievably patriotic. It was about America’s hope and dreams. I feel hopeful again.

‘What More Do You All Want?!’ ABC Touts Kamala Only Doing Friendly Media

For much of the roll out of the Harris-Walz campaign, they were adverse to doing media appearances and being accountable to the American people. They eventually caved but only made appearances with friendly media. Of course, despite being part of the media, The View defended this as well.

And one of her biggest defenders on the show was fake Republican Ana Navarro:

You know, there’s been a lot of moaning and groaning for weeks now that Kamala Harris hasn’t been doing interviews, isn’t doing interviews. So look, tomorrow she’s doing The View live. It is the first LIVE interview she does [sic] since becoming the nominee. She’s been here before. She’s doing The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. She’s doing The Howard Stern Show. She did 60 Minutes. She’s doing a Univision town hall on Thursday night. She did Call Her Daddy. She did Ricky Smiley. She did Oprah for two hours. She did All the Smoke. She did Dana Bash on CNN. She did Stephanie Ruhle on MSNBC. What more do you all want?!

Sunny Hostin Demands Media Do More to Drag Kamala Harris Over the Finish Line

The View’s trend of begging the rest of the liberal media to help them drag the Democratic ticket over the finish line continued well into October with Hostin whining:

I think we have the press to blame for a lot of this. About, you know — Whoopi, you always say, you don’t believe in polls. I’m with you now because I’m reading the press. First it was Kamala’s not doing enough press. Then she goes on this huge press tour. She was here with us. I thought she was fantastic. She was energetic. The crowd went wild. It was electric. CNN, ‘Democrats grow anxious.’ Axios, ‘blue wall blues.’ Fox, ‘Dems are scared to death.’ No, Dems are not scared to death, Dems are pumped.

Hostin tied herself into knots as she also had to juggle trying to claim Harris’s campaign was doing great. “Look, I think that Kamala Harris has been running a flawless campaign, and that’s why she raised billions of dollars — a billion dollars. I think it’s because of the momentum that she has. I think it’s because people believe in her,” she proclaimed.

The View Helps Walz to Fix Kamala Blunder, Gift ‘Dad in Plaid’ Flannel Shirt

In late October, Harris’s running mate, Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) appeared on The View to help fix the damage Harris did to her own campaign due to her inability to answer a simple softball question from Hostin.

The full cast made fools of themselves when they gifted him a custom flannel shirt that read “dad in plaid” on the back and their logo on the front. “And, if you win, will you wear it back and come back and visit us? When you win, will you wear it back and come back?” Navarro wanted to know.
