Fans of the Chicago Bears were merciless in letting their feelings be known during a brutally dull 6-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
First off, the game itself. The Bears-Seahawks matchup was a colossal disappointment, not only ending in the pathetic final score but featuring no points scored by either team in the second half.
Can you imagine paying for tickets to see an NFL game at Soldier Field, sitting in 40-degree weather in the rain only to see a grand total of three field goals … only in the first half?
Good Lord.
The offensive play was so uninspired that the Bears managed only 76 yards passing for the entire game. They had 179 yards total for the entire game. Their longest play from scrimmage was an 18-yard pass to DJ Moore, which occurred early in the second half.
Chicago quarterback Caleb Williams threw an interception on a crucial 4th & 10 late in the game, effectively sealing a Seahawks’ victory.
On the plus side, the fans did get to see 13 awesome punts.
Bears Fans Are Angry
Throughout the latter part of the game, the Chicago Bears fans started raining down a chant for their team. Was it a positive message as the team struggled but still had a chance to win in a 3-point game?
Nah.
Bears fans expressed their frustration by chanting, “Sell the Team!”
Over and over again.
“Sell the team” chants have erupted at Soldier Field.

The chants continued even after the game and could be heard during post-game interviews. The message to Bears chairman George McCaskey seems pretty straightforward. Since McCaskey took over the role in 2011, the Bears are 81-114.
That doesn’t include this season’s record of 4-12, as they currently bumble their way through a 10-game losing streak.
Incidentally, in 2010, the Bears actually made the NFC Championship Game… only to, of course, lose to the Green Bay Packers of all teams.

The Team Is Getting Trashed
Despite some optimism heading into the year, especially hype surrounding their newly acquired finger-nail-painting quarterback, the season has been an utter disaster for the Bears and their fans.
Williams tried to take some blame for the embarrassing loss on Thursday.
“I didn’t play well enough,” he said. “I didn’t help put the team in a good position to win, a better position to win, and that’s what it is.”
Williams added that he took too many “stupid” sacks. He was dropped seven times.
It’s bad enough when fans of other teams start mocking you. Division rival Packers fans chanted, “The Bears still suck,” during a game on Monday night.
Now, it’s their own fans that the Bears are hearing it from. What a disaster in Chicago.
