Jen Psaki, who normally carries water for the Democratic Party as a whole, had some words for the older members who she claims are keeping young talent down.

On her show Inside with Jen Psaki, she noted that the party opted to choose Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) for the top spot on the House Oversight Committee. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was also vying for the spot, but Connolly was supported by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has a lot of sway within the party’s internal politics.
Psaki was displeased with the decision not to give AOC a shot, saying they missed a “big opportunity” to “apply some of the lessons” Dems should have learned from their resounding defeat in November.
“So on Capitol Hill this week, House Democrats missed what I would consider a big opportunity. They passed over Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for the top Democratic spot on the Oversight Committee, Instead, they chose Congressman Gerry Connolly, a much older member backed by Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi. Why does that matter? This is one of the new committees that actually generates national attention or media coverage,” she said.
“Under Jamie Raskin, it became a critical platform for countering Republican misinformation. While I have deep, deep respect for Speaker Pelosi, she’s been on the show many times, she’s fierce, and nothing against Congressman Connolly at all, this felt like an obvious chance to apply some of the lessons we should have learned from the November election, right? Instead, Democrats passed over one of the youngest, most media-savvy members of Congress for a key leadership public role,” Psaki added.
Democrats spent the last year arguing that age is not a disqualifying factor in politics, given their undying support for President Joe Biden, at least until it was clear he would never win against President-elect Donald Trump. Now, it seems, some are turning their backs on that argument because it doesn’t suit them anymore.
On X, users were having a difficult time with Psaki’s logic:
AOC the ‘RICO Act is not a Law’ Sacky thinks AOC would be the best DEI leader of the Oversite Committee.

Why would we want an over-emotional tween in that very important committee spot because all Jen is in over emotional tween

She’s so stupid she thinks the lesson from the election is to keep pushing Stupid Woke Women in front of the cameras.

That would be the opposite of learning any lessons from the election!

Even the top tier democrats know AOC is not bright and is a liability no matter how social media save she is.
