Joe Biden’s recent moves are an indication that his administration is trying to undermine incoming President Donald J. Trump before he takes office next month, according to one MSNBC analyst.

On Thursday’s edition of “MSNBC Reports” on the left-wing propaganda network, Matthew Dowd opined that the outgoing president’s controversial commutation of the death sentences of some of America’s most notorious killers and a Christmas Eve flurry of bill signings are part of a strategy to “corner” Trump, effectively boxing him in.

When asked by host Richard Lui about how Biden’s handling his final weeks in power, Dowd suggested they’ll be devoted to erecting roadblocks to limit the “damage” that Trump could do by implementing his policies after he’s formally inaugurated.

During a segment spinning the commutations that were strongly criticized by many including Trump, Lui invited Dowd to give his take on what’s still to come.

“Matthew, it’s been a busy week for the president,” he said, “We’re talking of the commutations that came at the end of last week, but we had many bills signed by the president, there’s also the issue of more judges, he vetoed that bill,” referring to Biden’s pre-Christmas nixing of a bill that had bipartisan support to add more federal judges to the bench.

”We have the bald eagle now officially the bird of the United States,” Lui said, one of the 50 bills signed by Biden on Christmas Eve. “What do you expect to see him do in the next three weeks of lasting effect?”

“I mean, I think he’s what he’s trying to do is trying to corner Donald Trump and sort of box him in…,” Dowd responded. “I think the Biden administration and the president is trying to prevent Donald Trump from doing as much damage as he possibly can could do, which he could do a lot after becoming president. But I think Joe Biden is trying to box him in on this.”

The former Bush-Cheney strategist then defended Biden’s commutations of child killers by attacking Trump’s reaction and likening him to Ebeneezer Scrooge.

“Speaking specifically to the commutations which of course Donald Trump doesn’t understand the difference between a commutation and a pardon,” he continued. “Donald Trump said in that tweet they were pardoned, they weren’t pardoned, they’re still gonna serve, they’re gonna still be in jail in this, and I think it comes a lot from the President’s Christianity,” he said, referring to the self-proclaimed “devout Catholic” being opposed to the death penalty.

“Also, to the 37 most violent criminals, who killed, raped, and plundered like virtually no one before them, but were just given, incredibly, a pardon by Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump wrote in a Christmas Day post to Truth Social. “I refuse to wish a Merry Christmas to those lucky ‘souls’ but, instead, will say, GO TO HELL! We had the Greatest Election in the History of our Country, a bright light is now shining over the U.S.A. and, in 26 days, we will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

“And I think Donald Trump, it’s amazing to me his weighing in on this issue in such a way on Christmas, he might as well have you know, have quoted Scrooge from Dickens and said ‘Bah humbug,’ let’s decrease the surplus population in the course of this,” he added.

“And I’m actually always amazed by Donald Trump’s sort of wrenching conflict with what the message of Christmas is and what he actually tweets out in the course of this, and so I think Joe Biden is trying to box Donald Trump in as much as he can, it’s limited, but I think that’s what his goal is,” Dowd concluded.
