A jetliner with a malfunctioning landing gear crashed in southwest South Korea and burst into flames early Sunday local time, prompting a massive emergency response and reports of mass casualties.
The Jeju Air aircraft was carrying 175 passengers and six crew from Bangkok when it crashed at the airport in Muan county, local officials said.
Video on social media showed a large fire and firefighters responding.
A local fire official told CNN at least 28 people died and more casualties were expected.
