Looks like someone’s conscience got the better of him on Christmas!

A local Grinch in Fort Collins, Colorado, stole a baby Jesus from a nativity scene in front of a fire station.

The fire station put out a notice with a security photo of a blonde-haired bandit:

Fortunately, the thief’s heart grew a few sizes and he returned the statue just in time for Christmas, along with an apology note reading:

I’m really sorry, I made a dumb mistake in the moment. It won’t happen again.

It’s a little Christmas miracle!

The firefighters celebrated by sharing a photo of the safe return of the Christ child, although there appeared to be a few missing fingers:
