Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez threw cold water on all the rumors that she was pregnant.

The New York Democrat and “Squad” member posted a short video clip addressing the stories that have been circulating that she is expecting a baby. AOC claimed she was asked the personal question by a congressman on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The lawmaker felt it necessary to note the question about her potentially being pregnant was asked not by just any colleague, but by a “Republican” one at that.

“Everyone keeps asking me if I’m pregnant,” Ocasio-Cortez said in her video clip that had “you’re glowing” captioned.

“A Republican came to me on the floor this week and asked me if I was pregnant,” AOC continued. “I’m not pregnant guys. I had a lot of food at Thanksgiving. Okay,” she added. “It happens.”

Ocasio-Cortez has been engaged since 2022 to marketing professional Riley Roberts. The pregnancy rumors that she tamped down were running rampant on social media in the weeks ahead of November’s election. But she has not responded until now and many are still not buying it.

The 35-year-old congresswoman recently suffered a humiliating defeat when she made a bid for a top Democrat position only to be rebuffed by the caucus that embraced Rep. Gerry Connolly’s (D-VA) for the role.

“The party made its decision. I respect the outcome of the results,” Ocasio-Cortez said to reporters on Tuesday. “I ran the best race I could. We’re moving forward.”

On X, users reacted to her insistence that she is not pregnant.
