We all have to be very worried about global warming. The oceans are rising. The southern hemisphere will become uninhabitable. Snow is disappearing The rate of cold weather deaths doubled. Wait, what?
Deaths in the United States from cold weather-related causes have been rising, according to a study published Thursday in a medical journal.
The study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), found that the number of Americans who died from cold weather-related factors more than doubled from 1999 to 2022, with the highest rate being detected in the Midwest.
In the Midwest? Not in Florida?
In their study, Wadhera’s team tracked U.S. death certificates for the over 63.5 million Americans who died between 1999 and 2022. In total, exposure to cold temperatures was listed as a direct or contributing factor in a death in 0.06% of cases over that time span.
However, the rate at which these deaths occurred more than doubled over the 23 years covered by the study: From 0.44 deaths per every 100,000 people in 1999 to 0.92 deaths per 100,000 by 2022.
That worked out to an 3.4% annual increase in cold-related deaths year-by-year since 1999, the Harvard team calculated.
However, the bulk of the change occurred between 2016 and 2022, they noted, which has coincided with accelerations in climate change.
So much so that suddenly everyone began dying of the cold?
But wait, warmunists were telling us that winter was vanishing.

Winters are getting warmer… and killing people with their cold.
Does this heavily hyped study published by JAMA even show that weather is killing people at higher rates, or that homelessness and drugs are?
American Indian/Alaska Native populations also had much higher odds of dying from cold exposures, as did Black Americans, compared to white Americans, the study found.
That’s consistent with people in minority populations too often living in spaces with a “lack of home insulation or heat,” Wadhera’s group pointed out.
Besides climate change, the researchers also cited a rise in risk factors such as “homelessness, social isolation and substance use” as playing a potential role in the increase in cold-related deaths.
Now remember the glory days of COVID? This study depends on deaths from underlying or contributing factors.
More than 40,000 people died between 1999 and 2022 in situations in which cold was found to be the underlying or a contributing factor, according to the study.
This study isn’t showing the effects of changing weather but lefty cities subsidizing homelessness.
But if you want more cold winter deaths among the elderly, go ahead and push more ‘green’ poverty that will make fuel more expensive so more elderly people die so that government officials can push for more green policies to save the planet in their name.
That’s not satire. It’s literally government policy in the UK.
