As The Gateway Pundit’s Cassandra Macdonald reported last week, Never-Trump anchor Neil Cavuto was ousted from Fox News after 28 years at the network. He bid his final farewell at the end of Thursday’s episode of Your World.
A report from Mediaite stated that Cavuto’s departure from the network was not related to his opposition to Trump, but did not provide further details of the reasoning behind his departure.
Fox News told Mediaite:
“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism, and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media. His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry.
We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
Now, former CNN employee Oliver Darcy has revealed some additional details regarding Cavuto’s sudden canning. Writing on his website Status, Cavuto was forced out because his show was a “wormhole to another time” before President Trump conquered the Republican Party and remade it into his America-First image.
“Donald Trump not only remade the Republican Party in his own image, but he also remade the right-wing media landscape in it too. Fox News’ 2024 lineup is a reflection of that,” Darcy added.
Moreover, Darcy says Cavuto likely would have had to take a pay cut to stay at Fox News despite its overwhelming status as the number one network in cable news.
“For someone who has been at the channel since its inception in 1996, and who has poured his heart and soul into the company, that probably stung just a bit,” Darcy explained.
Trump, for his part, was quite ecstatic over one of his leading media haters leaving.
“GOOD NEWS FOR AMERICA! Neil Cavuto, the Lowest Rated Anchor on Fox, by far, is leaving,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Should have happened a long time ago!”
