It’s been three years since the singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson finalized her bitter divorce from Brandon Blackstock. On Wednesday, Clarkson seemingly threw shade at her ex in a new video that was posted to YouTube.
Clarkson Throws Shade At Her Ex
The video in question was a visualizer for Clarkson’s new project “When Christmas Comes Around… Again.” The video shows four red holiday stockings pictured hanging over a fireplace. The stockings have the names of Clarkson, 42, and her two children River, 10, and Remy, 8, written on them.
The fourth stocking simply has the word “Nope” written on it. This was seemingly a reference to Clarkson’s ex Blackstock, 48.

Clarkson Sees Music As Her Therapy
Clarkson told People Magazine earlier this year that while she’s not the type of person to hold a grudge, music has always been therapy for her.
“I cannot express how appreciative I feel for having that kind of healthy outlet,” Clarkson said back in January. “Because the level of depression and things that come with divorce or grieving is extraordinarily hard. You feel alone, and it’s just a blessing to be able to have that outlet for those emotions that are overwhelming.”
Clarkson went on to say that finally releasing her album “Chemistry” felt “like, ‘I’m taking my power back.’”
“That sounds very therapy, but that’s because I love therapy, and I think it’s important to have those tools to navigate your life and relationships,” she added.
When their divorce was finalized, Clarkson was ordered to pay Blackstock $45,000 a month in child support for their kids. In January of this year, Clarkson made her last $115,000 spousal support payment to Blackstock, who previously managed her.
“Kelly is feeling relieved that her spousal support to Brandon has come to an end,” a source said at the time. “She’s been ready for this for a while now and is so happy her payments to Brandon will be complete. It’s so nice knowing that this chapter of her life can close with the new year.”
Clarkson and Blackstock, who is the former stepson of Reba McEntire, married in 2013, and they went on to have two children together before they split seven years later. They had likely known each other since at least 2007, when Clarkson signed on to be represented by the music management company that is owned by Blackstock’s father Narvel.

Clarkson ‘Felt Single’ During Her Marriage
Earlier this week, an insider told Page Six that Clarkson “felt single” during her marriage to Blackstock.
“As time went on in their marriage, Kelly didn’t feel like she had a partner,” this source said. “Kelly felt single in a lot of ways even while she and Brandon were still married.”
The insider went on to say that Clarkson “attended school events for the kids by herself when other parents would attend with both the mom and the dad.”
“Kelly was so grateful when she was granted primary custody of her children because they’re her whole world,” the source continued.

There’s clearly no love lost between Clarkson and Blackstock. For the sake of their children, we can only hope that they are putting their differences aside to co-parent together effectively!
