Not to be a “Debbie Downer”, but the first round of the 2024-25 inaugural 12-team College Football Playoff was a dud. All four first-round games had double-digit margins. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish kicked things off Friday by beating the brakes off the Indiana Hoosiers 27-17.

Then the Penn State Nittany Lions hammered the SMU Mustangs 38-10 Saturday before the Texas Longhorns cruised past the Clemson Tigers 38-24. Finally, Saturday’s nightcap featured the Ohio State Buckeyes drubbing the Tennessee Volunteers 42-17.

Regardless of how good or bad the games are, my goal for the CFP is the same: Make money. With that in mind, keep reading for the opening moneylines, spreads, and totals for the quarterfinals of the CFP.
