An online influencer has gone viral for his “incredibly well said,” nuanced explanation of the ongoing spending battle in Washington.
Kaizen D. Asiedu is his name, and he’s even earned the attention of DOGE co-chair Elon Musk, who on Thursday praised him for his “incredibly well said” explanation.

Incredibly well said

Asiedu began the video above by summarizing the known facts.
“Every year, Congress has from about February until Oct. 1st to pass a [budget] bill for the following year,” he said. “If they miss the Oct. 1st deadline, then they form what’s called a continuing resolution (CR) bill. That bill is meant to be a temporary measure that maintains the prior years’ levels of funding in order to prevent a government shutdown.”
“They need to pass that bill before December 20th, when all the Congress people go home for Christmas, in order to ensure that the government doesn’t shut down,” he added.
In case a government shutdown was to occur, he continued, essential services “like the operation of our military or Social Security” would still function.
Moving on to this year’s CR, he noted that it originally (before Speaker Mike Johnson replaced it, angering Democrats) measured almost 1,600 pages long and contained a slew of “supplemental funding” that had nothing to do with keeping the government open, including $100 billion just for disaster relief.
Asiedu then went through the numerous reasons why critics like Musk and President-elect Donald Trump were exceedingly unhappy with the original CR.
Reason 1
“What’s raising hackles is the fact that most Congress people had less than 24 hours to read the entire 1500-page bill,” he said. “Most Congress people were given the bill on December 17th and expected to vote on it less than 24 hours later on December 18th.”
Reason 2
“On top of all that, there were specific provisions in the bill that many people objected to, like, for example, the fact that it gave a pay increase to members of Congress,” Asiedu explained.
“Many people objected to the fact that Congress people would be giving themselves a pay increase at all given the state of the country and the fact that many people are struggling to get their bills paid,” he added.
Reasons 3 and 4
“There’s also the fact that the bill would allow Congresspeople to be exempt from Obamacare even though the average American is not, or the fact that the bill allocates funding for the Global Engagement Center, which many people have critiqued as a propaganda instrument and censorship instrument that has been used against the American people and now is getting even more funding,” he said.
Continuing his explanation, Asiedu noted that most Americans probably wouldn’t know or care about any of this if it hadn’t been for Musk, who began drawing attention to the bloated CR earlier this week.
“What’s unprecedented about this is that Elon Musk heard about it and started posting a lot about the whole situation on X,” Asiedu said. “Because Elon has such a huge following, that caused many people to get into an uproar, and it caused many people to start pressuring their Congresspeople and calling their Congresspeople to have the CR bill not passed.”
This enraged Democrats, who subsequently began accusing Musk of maliciously using his wealth and influence to interfere in the political process. Asiedu for his part wasn’t impressed with this argument.
“His influence was simply using his voice and amplifying it to his large audience, and in reality, it was not just Elon saying that he opposes this — it was the people agreeing that they also oppose the CR,” he said.
“His individual voice only helped amplify the voices of millions of people who disagreed with this entire dysfunctional process,” he added.
Correct!
It wasn’t just Elon who was against the ridiculous spending bill, it was millions of Americans. Elon spoke for us because most of our elected Reps don’t actually represent our interests. Elon is a voice for the people and gave a voice to the people.
Let this be a warning to all…

Concluding his remarks, Asiedu explained why, despite complaints from barking Democrats, all of this is a GOOD THING.
“I think this is actually a tremendously positive development for all of America,” he began. “So many of us have become disillusioned with politics because we feel like politicians don’t have our best interest in mind, and we feel like no matter who’s in office, nothing seems to change. But what’s changed this time is that we have a degree of transparency and a public square in X where we can actually speak up and we can actually be listened to if enough of us actually exercise our power as a people.”
“I mean, look at what happened. Elon Musk lit his watchtower, and then the rest of us did as well, and as a result of that public pressure, our elected representatives heard our voice, realized that we’re watching, and realized that they could not engage in this dysfunctional process and waste our tax money. We made it clear to our elected representatives what we actually want done with our money, and they responded. I mean, if that’s not democratic principles in action, I don’t know what is.”
BINGO!
