Legacy media has been having a meltdown when it comes to X owner Elon Musk, and the role of new media in general. 

We have been seeing it again, with this latest funding battle fight in Congress.

Democrats went all-in on the dumb tactic of painting Musk as the de facto president because he was reflecting the opinion of many Americans who were upset that, once again you got a huge CR that no one could read trying to be shoved down our throats at the 11th hour. It wasn’t Musk who stopped it; it was the people calling into their members of Congress’ offices, while also voicing their concerns on X. Those actions ultimately ended in us getting a much cleaner bill. 

Mainstream media then parroted the Dems’ talking point. 

As I noted, all Musk was doing was sounding off, along with so many other Americans. So the leftists’ response–who is Musk? or he’s not an “elected official”–showed that Democrats don’t even understand their role as lawmakers. Their role is that they are supposed to represent the people. Besides, this is exactly how it’s supposed to work, with the people expressing themselves in a representative government.

But guess who was having a truly delusional reaction to it all? 

Our CNN friend, Brian Stelter. This is a very funny rant, as Stelter claims independent media wants to style themselves as the “new NY Times” or the “new CNN.” 

No, last thing that any independent media would want to style themselves as is the NYT or CNN, which people don’t trust. Plus, why would new media want to emulate media that is failing? So many in independent media get more views than CNN does. CNN is tanking–specifically because they have lost viewers’ trust. 

Stelter claims that independent media isn’t accurate and doesn’t have research behind it. 

Then he says this silliness.  “There have been all these questions about him [Musk], is he the ‘shadow president?” Is this what “research” gets Brian Stelter and the mainstream media?

No, there haven’t been “questions,” apart from the Democrats trying to use that as a tactic for attack, and the MSM, which is just echoing that narrative. The tactic is too obvious; if media isn’t calling it out as a tactic, then once again, that’s a failure of reporting. Stelter mentions what Elon says, calling out the tactic.

That is exactly the goal. The political & legacy media puppets all got their new instructions yesterday and are now parroting the same message to drive a wedge between @realDonaldTrump and me. They will fail.

Stelter says he didn’t think anyone was trying to drive a wedge between them except the Democrats using the tactic. He claims the media was just trying to “understand” the relationship. Then host Dana Bash agrees, stating they are just calling it “as we see it,” that Musk tweeted about it, as well as Trump. 

No, many people were tweeting about it; Does that make anyone a “shadow president,” just because the opinion was a very popular one that resonated with the people? Maybe CNN should be asking why it was so popular, and why the American people want change like this to stop such huge CRs in the future? 

Trump tasked Musk to do exactly what he is doing — to look at waste and spending, and institute government efficiency. Musk has no power in that regard without Trump. And he doesn’t want it.

That’s the thing Democrats are missing in this equation. They’re viewing things through the lens of their own power-hungry personalities. But Musk doesn’t want power, he just wants to help make change. He’s not interested in being president. That’s why he’s perfect for the position. He put his billions of his own money on the line and faced all kind of lawfare to support freedom. 

Here’s the thing for Brian Stelter to understand. In a free society, the public gets to decide who they listen to. That seems to bother you. The answer is to become better. If not, then CNN’s ratings will continue to suffer.
